Here is a cover that we did for a documentary about The Doors, titled "When You're Strange." Unfortunately this cover was rejected when it turned out that the band just "wanted a band photo" instead. We thought we'd show it to you anyway, as we're rather fond of it.

We've been posting fairly frequent blog entries over at MTV's Headbangers Blog, giving in-depth views into various design projects. This time, you can read about the artwork for Demon Hunter's forthcoming 3-disc release, "45 Days."

Holy smokes! I can't decide on whether I'd like to be Morpheus or John Lasseter at this moment. So good.

45 Days. A Film About Demon Hunter By Cale Glendening.

Wes Anderson's classic film Bottle Rocket (my second favorite of his films, behind Rushmore) now gets its own Criterion Collection. Not a bad thing at all.

It seems as if House Industries is making a film about Ed Rondthaler.

From the House blog: 'We had the privilege to spend a day filming Ed Rondthaler, living legend, founder of Photo-Lettering, Inc., former president of the American Literacy Council and author of The Dictionary of Simplified American Spelling'.

The Totoro Forest Project is a 'A fund raising exhibition/auction to support the national trust Totoro Forest Foundation that Oscar winning film maker Hayao Miyazaki has been helping over the years, featuring original art created by internationally acclaimed artists in the fields of animation, comic books, and illustration.'

I did notice that many of these pieces were created by Pixar illustrators, animators and directors. The work is absolutely stunning and I just love the concept.

A book featuring all of the pieces should be available on September 6th.

The Archive is a great (and very well done) little documentary on Paul Mawhinney, owner of the world's largest record collection. You may need to dry a tear or two.

The Batmobile from Batman Returns movie is being auctioned off at the 38th annual Kruse International Auction, which will be held on Labor Day weekend (August 28, 29, 30, 31, September 1 & 2 at the 480 acre Kruse Auction Park) in Auburn, Indiana. The car is # 3 of 5 Batmobiles actually used in the BATMAN RETURNS MOVIE. 

Keep in mind that Batmobiles have sold for as much as $550,000 in the past, which means owning one is definitely attainable.

Keeping with our morning theme of bands east of the Atlantic, here's the new video from Glasgow's favorite sons: Something Anything. Is it just me, or is Fran getting more and more gray with each album? Who cares. 40 is the new 20.

Kevin Kelley from Film School Rejects got a call from Skywalker Ranch to preview the new Clone Wars film. After his mild heart attack, he was able to take a TON of great photos of the infamous ranch. Lucky for us. Enjoy.

Flash Of Genius. I remember my Dad telling me about this story back in the day. Not only am I a Kinnear fanatic, I'm also a "feel-good-touchy-feely-good guy wins in the end" film fanatic. Consider me there. Hopefully I won't be alone.

I was really excited to see the teaser trailer for Lemmy: The Movie yesterday. Documentaries are starting to pop up everywhere, and I think that's a great thing (Oasis: Lord Don't Slow Me Down - brilliant!). I especially appreciate the fact that this was done in time so all parties involved could watch and enjoy before the run is over. 

Oh, and if I need to explain to you who Lemmy and Motorhead are, you're at the wrong blog.

Our bro Chris Sims has been busy churning out some stunning videos lately. We teamed up with Chris on the Undying video in 2006 and the dude doesn't play around. Quality in every way.

The video for The Living End's new single "White Noise" incorporated our concept and album artwork perfectly. We usually cringe when directors ask us for files, but this was done brilliantly. Directed by Grant Marshall.
